History:
Aircraft Innovation & Repair Services, Inc. (AIRS) is a full
service speciality modification and maintenance shop supporting
primarily Lake Aircraft products. AIRS main emphasis has
been designing and implementing modifications and upgrades for
all Lake Aircraft models in order to improve the flight characteristics,
safety and user friendliness of the aircraft. In addition, AIRS
has been positioned as a Lake expert maintenance facility since
starting business in Winter Haven, Florida in 1995. We also provide
specialized training in the Lake Aircraft, and we are truly known
world wide for our capabilities and expertise. AIRS has completed
numerous complete reconstruction projects, rebuilding older and/or
damaged aircraft, to the specifications of the latest aircraft
produced. We also have returned several Insurance Totals
and "basket cases" to the productive fleet of aircraft.
In addition to operating as Lake specialty shop, we are also
a full service maintenance facility for discriminating owners
of most other types light aircraft.
Philosophy:
Our goal is to provide our customers (mostly Lake owners and
operators) with quality and value. At Aircraft Innovation,
we are problem solvers, not parts changers. Our company name
describes us aptly. But along with Innovation, Integrity
and Ingenuity are synonymous with Aircraft Innovation
(AIRS). We try to locate the root cause of a deficiency or problem,
and therefore resolve the cause of the problem rather than simply
replace or repair a deficient component. No problem is too big
or small. Just because its always been that way.....doesnt
mean that its right. Lake may have made it, but AIRS makes
it right. Our over riding concern is to keep you in the air,
flying, safely, with confidence and security.
Our group:
AIRS President and Owner is Paul Furnee, who is known worldwide
to be a Lake expert. He has more than twenty five years of Lake
manufacturing experience, and over twelve thousand hours flying
the Lake all over the world, and as such is probably the highest
time Lake pilot anywhere. Furnees background as an aeronautical
and mechanical engineer, coupled with his knowledge and expertise
was instrumental in the design of various Lake models such as
the EP, the Renegade, Turbo 270, and the military version, the
Seawolf. In the early 1980's Paul was responsible for the flight
testing and certification of the EP model and the Lake 250 Renegade.
He was General Manager and Executive VP of Lake Aircraft, Inc.
from 1983 thru 1986 and was also responsible for managing Aerofab,
Inc., which is the manufacturing facility for Lake. In this capacity
he became knowledgeable about every aspect of the design and
manufacture of the aircraft, and in fact contributed heavily
to the design and development of the later model aircraft.
AIRS employees are also a key to our success, and the select
few that we employ have learned immeasurably from Paul Furnee,
and they adhere to our Innovative philosophy. Paula is
the wonderful greeting voice on the telephone and keeps everyone
going in the same direction! |
